About Beyond September

Beyond September is a mission-driven shop and educational platform focused on suicide prevention, remembrance, connection, and hope throughout the year.

The name comes from a belief that has guided my advocacy for years: suicide prevention cannot begin and end with one awareness month. The conversations, education, resources, and human connection people need must continue long after September is over.

Why I Created Beyond September

This mission is deeply personal to me.

I have lost both my brother and my father-in-law to suicide. I also know what it is like to love and support someone who lives with chronic suicidal thoughts. Those experiences changed my family, shaped my work, and taught me how complicated suicide prevention really is.

Since 2013, I have worked in mental health advocacy, community outreach, peer support, and suicide-prevention education. I have spoken with families searching for answers, people struggling to find meaningful help, and individuals trying to support someone they love without knowing what to say or do.

Beyond September grew from those experiences.

I created it to make practical information easier to find, encourage honest conversations, challenge stigma, honor the people we have lost, and remind those who are struggling that they are still part of this world and worthy of support.

More Than a Store

The Beyond September shop offers meaningful products designed around remembrance, encouragement, grief, connection, and hope.

You will find apparel, journals, workbooks, remembrance pieces, comforting gifts, educational downloads, and products that help people express things that can be difficult to put into words.

Some products honor someone who is deeply missed. Some offer reassurance during an impossibly difficult season. Others help begin an important conversation or remind someone that they are seen, loved, and not alone.

Every product is selected or created with intention. Beyond September is not a general gift store with a cause added afterward. The mission comes first, and the products are an extension of that mission.

Education and Free Resources

Beyond September also provides educational content and free resources for individuals, families, supporters, and communities.

The larger mission includes suicide-prevention education, warning-sign awareness, guidance for difficult conversations, information about finding help, support for people living with loss, and practical strategies for situations in which the usual answers are not enough.

Our Commitment

Beyond September is an independent, family-owned South Carolina business. I take the responsibility behind this work seriously because the people who arrive here are not simply customers. They may be grieving, worried about someone they love, seeking reassurance, or trying to find something meaningful when ordinary words don't feel sufficient.
